Was wondering about why there was no reference to Kawasaki triples at the Paris rally. Hope those of you who are able to attend have a (LET THE GOOD TIMES ROLL)!

Its gotta be a f-u. Talk to any motorcyclist at any venue, the word "triple" is synonymous with kawasaki 2 strokes of the 70's. "What do you ride?" "A triple" "Oh man, an h2 or h1? My buddy had one of those, nearly killed himself, wheelie machines with the hinge in the middle" x infinity.

I'm still upset at them, all they had to was call it "the year of the triples" and forget about picking a Marque for their display.(you can always fill a display when you got lots of qualifying styles of bikes) I helped(and was the one who recommended-Year of the triple) do our CVMG rally here in Central Ab in 2009. (A great success I must say.) First thing we did was not alienate any brand of manufacture as it usually causes a problem. Even the Sask. CVMG groups Biggar rally last year had a theme of the 3 cyldr machine-again very successful.

Talk about holding a grudge....Chill out, guys The CVMG webpage for the Paris Rally has a poster, with a few examples of triple-cylinder motorcycles, entitled "the Year of the Triple". Accompanying text states: The theme of the 45th annual rally is "Triples"I don't think they could have stated is much clearer than that. You guys build and drive some of the most amazing vintage bikes out there: customs, restos, whatever. To me, this is a direct invitation to the Kawasaki Triples Canada group to get our bikes out there and WOW the show with some of our incredible TRIPLES!!! Big deal that some of this group bullied their way into the Paris fairgrounds years ago and ended up persona non grata, after the fact. Big deal that yours, or my, specific bike didn't make the CVMG poster for the event (try telling water buffalo fans that Kawi triples are the "only" triples). Doesn't change the fact that they're all triples. I'm still kicking myself that I missed the Triples rally in Biggar, SK, last year. Didn't hear about it until it was over. These opportunities to show off our bikes en masse, to a large, appreciative crowd, don't come around that often. I suggest we forget the ancient history and perceived slights and get out there and enjoy The year of the Triple!
And what better way to continue our own annual Triples in Paris event - seems tailor-made!
Hopefully, we'll be seeing most of you there.
Cheers, N.

Sooner than later my son will be overseas, somewhere, peace keeping. I am spending every fathers day I can riding with him, where ever he's stationed. I have enjoyed 3 incredible sledding weekends with him and my daughters this year. It is actually winter from about Bancroft clear thru to Petawawa. Riding in 2-3 feet of snow with my son and girls, is the best ever, period. Altho last sunday the lakes were quite unnerving, riding thru a foot of slush at some points, just pin it. Quite safe as the OFSC didn't close the lake trails. When you stopped in the centre, you slowly sank in the slush until you hit hard ice. My 4 sleds I trailered add up to 99 years in age. I seen lots of blown up or broke down sleds. Not mine, even my 1969 ran perfect again, even with a 40 year old rusty Champion plug. When parked in front of the "local bars", my SnoPrince draws a bigger crowd than any boring belly button H2. I even had to remove the hood so some could see the engine, clutches, exhaust and brakes unobstructed as they are works of metal art.
Back to the topic: I don't recall there being much of a "fued" between the KTC and the CVMG. That was blown out of proportion here on this forum. There had been emails regarding entry fees, 35 bucks for the weekend including camping I believe. We only wanted to pay the gate fee, display our bikes a while, then ride. It was our first year at my place, it had just quit raining saturday morning. We all rode to the CVMG meet. Upon arrival there was no one at the wide open gates collecting fee's so I only slowed, then carried on in. The rest followed me like trail horses, nose to tail. Our entry didn't go un-noticed. Upon parking we were requested in a friendly manor to pay the gate entry fee, which I did. Not any apparent bullying up to this point, altho some members didn't pay. I still felt a warm welcome the year I did all the printing that helped with Jim's triple seminar, (2nd year?). We were offered a nice room in a building for the displays. Rent free I assume. Probably our best and well received appearance at the CVMG Rally. I did request "year of the Triple" way back in o9 to go with the 69, but were turned down due to the Rudge or somethings 90th year. You have to remember the CVMG was never a Jap bike organization, the Brit and American mostly. I now feel since we claim our bikes are indeed Vintage, the Stuffiness has eased some. Hence my "Stuffy Brit Riders" term, they're worse than the RUBS.
I'm booked in at the Quality Inn and Suits in Petawawa this fathers day weekend and will not be in Paris Have a great time in June, and leave the bullying to the Forums.
