I feel left out. I had a "B" many years ago but it was incomplete and I gave it away. Seeing what you guys started with, it wasn't as bad as I thought at the time. You know the little jewel thing in the headlight you mentioned Don. They are the same as the Honda Z50 K1 & K2 used, and also the PC50 moped. If you see them listed for the moped in particular, they are usually cheap on evilbay. Since Honda generally owners don't like 2 strokes, it's unlikely that they know it's are the same as used on some triples. It's probably made by Stanley. I had a whole box of them (NOS) a couple of years ago and unknowingly ebay'd them one at a time as Z50 parts. I had one left when I thought to compare it to the one on my 70 H1 headlight shell. Thought you may need to know this Ian, since your project has no headlight unit at all and you may have to hunt for one eventually. BTW Ian. I found that clutch lever assembly and it's no good. It looks right but uses a different lever. Maybe from a 70s KE or something. I have lots of stuff and will keep my eye open for another.

That's one of those clever sellers, who puts a 30 year old part on a piece of Honda wrapping, and the buyer thinks it's NOS

and I'm such a looser when it comes to keeping records or photo's. I was so concerned about hiding my find in the attic of the shop cause I figured Sally would have me committed for being such a sucker....... bad Andre, not many triplers would give away an inner tube these day's. Hind sight is alway's 20/20, idinit. Arielman, those twisters may be a little pricey, they are same as 72 H2 I think. I got a complete unit but it's my spare. I do have an earlier unit complete, H1 or H1A, don't really know for sure, stock is alway's better but the other would look ok and work, if you need. From the sound of things we're gonna have a "Swarm of Killer B's" in Ontario soon

20,000 miles on that odometer, gotta be a record for a triple. My B had less than 8000 with the crank out of it.

Ian, When they go back together, I would like to see some pics of the back of the ring and how it looks when you close it back up. Then I can decide if I wanna tackle it on my '70 H1 & my '70 A1. I have done lots of later 73-76 H1 gauges but the big rubber rings hide any sign of it being opened. I was considering having a pro open and close them once I'm done. BTW. One trick I learned is to tap the ring back in place from the bottom with the gauge right side up. Otherwise dust and debris ends up between the face and the glass no matter how light handed you are.
Don, In my box of spare gauges, I have seen some triple speedos with more than 30,000 miles but I figured over the years they had been on more than one bike. I've never had a triple with more than 16,000 on it that was complete and running. My old '75 H1 had a bad center seal at 7,000.

Andre If I were to do this on my 71 H1A I would have a pro remove and reinstall the chrome ring . Whereas on the B and later 350/500 the ring is covered up by the rubbers.
I used small vice grips with tape on on end to prevent any damage to the ring .
The crimping was the hard part trying to get a nice crimp BUT it is hard . I have it crimped real good so that it makes a tight seal. Ian
