Are these interchangeable? I thought 1973 H1D used the H2 ignition system. I thought it might be possible that an early 1974 H1 might use the same system too.Sometimes there is a small production overlap where you take your chances on what part actually lines up with the parts listing. A friend says he has a new 1974 harness so I'm gonna have a peek and see if the wires are right for the H2 system.
thanks,
RT

Also the lengths of some spurs may differ. Good luck, but I think you would do best to find a decent h2 harness. The similarity of iggy systems refers to the electrical (CDI) boxes and rotors. In addition the H2 and H1 use the same rotor but have different positions when mounted.

I'm going to restore the H2 and thought it might be easier to try the harness rather than manufacturing a fresh one as I did with the last project.Heck my old harness may be fine but the offer came up yesterday.

Hey Rotortiller, I might have a spare H1 harness you can have if you need it.

I think you'll want to get an H2 harness for the correct year of your H2. There are a couple guys reproducing them.

It's put awy now, in the showroom of the shop, for the winter, but the carbs are setteling in nicely, still slightly rich down low, but better than too lean that's for sure. Hope to get out in the spring, a few little adjustments and then ride for the season instead of jetting runs. All in all it runs good and is fun to ride on these South Shore roads. Lc was down about a month ago and really likes our roads. Hopefully he'll come back next summer and bring his bike. Not sure if I'll be able to keep up to his, but it'll be a fun ride for sure
