Hey Rick! Can you share ideas about your plans for the Samurai Roadracer?

I can see the flanged rims on dirt bikes, for more strength, but on a street/racebike, it just adds weight in a very bad place.......

Hey Rick! Can you share ideas about your plans for the Samurai Roadracer? Sure...spend buckets of cash and lots of hours! Already have the Full fairing, clip-ons and rear sets...350 engine apart, cases and trans are ok, the rest is beyond use. Have to liberate the 250 engine from the frame and see how it is...new crank, pistons, rotary valves and 30mm carbs are on my shopping list. Going to spend lots of time with the Squish and compression ratio again...it worked well on the F7. Rebuild the stock forks , Hagon shocks..Green lining for the new wheels...Airtech A1R gas tank and seat...I'll build my own pipes again...have I missed anything? I've had zero luck finding any A1R internal engine parts, so I'm going to stick with the stock A1 parts that I can lay my hands on.. I always use flanged wheels for the Period look, I don't feel the weight difference makes any difference to a slow old Git like me!

I don't feel the weight difference makes any difference to a slow old Git like me! I'd take issue with the "slow old git" part.

Many thanks to Ian Taylor ( H2 Dude ) for supplying the wheels and engine for this build. I won't have to destroy the nice bike I got from III now....

Sorry Jim. Derek ( Triple racer ) delivered to Rick on Sat. Sandra laughed as Derek removed the parts from the front porch only to leave some S3 engine stuff behind on the back porch..lol.
