well my kh500 gave up the ghost a few weeks ago crank let go and done a piston and scored the barrel now the barrels are on 2mm o/s so im going to put a h1b set of barrels i have the real question is it was running with h2 carbs with adapters as the engine had been tuned can i still use these h2 carbs with no tunning on these h1b barrels and if so what would the pros cons be using these h2 carbs thanks simon

There is not that much difference between the H1 28mm carbs & the H2 30mm carbs flow wise. The 30 would seal better with the rubber mounts.(but are still junk)The early bikes were faster (read better porting) so there should be not much difference.Of course you will have to play with jetting.Start rich. Make sure you have a good seal on the carbs with new gaskets & no cracks in the rubber boots. That may have been your problem in the first place.
