That got your attention. I got sick of the loud clutch on the H2 so collected new parts and changed it up. Same basket because the one I got on ebay turned out to be slightly crushed and the plates wouldn't fit in. Also turns out that the whole clutch had been thrown in and was short the internal thrust washer. So, new thrust washers and bushing, I had to make up a new adjusting screw due to the added thickness of the second thrust washer. Plates are new. There does not seem to be any side play in the shaft.
Anyway, it went together fine but now when I pull in the clutch there is a sound like a squirrel chirping. Not really loud but there. The clutch seems to work fine. Engages, disengages, shifts well. Big question is: What the heck is that noise??

Big question is: What the heck is that noise?? Most likely clutch fiber hitting inside of clutch cover. If it is, you will see rub marks on inside of cover.

It looks like the outer fiber is hitting the bump for the shift shaft in the case. Can I just grind the ends on the fiber a bit or should I grind the case a little? Or both?

The usual fix is to grind/sand off the ends of the fiber fingers.

Thanks guys. It worked.A little grinding on the plates and a touch on the case and, silence. The squirrel has run away. I hate to say this out loud, but it seems that with this fix, I have got all the bugs out of this H2. Now what am I going to do?
