That's cool, I didn't know anyone did anything like this on a bike...you could keep the front wheel planted under power if you set it up properly

I believe it was just to keep the chain tension constant

Judging by the two links, and where the roll center would be...that bike wouldn't lift in the rear under power Kinda like a 5.0l

News from VRRA
I'm very excited to have just processed Dave and Lorraine Crussell's registration for the 2016 HB Cycle Vintage Festival. Lorraine will be joining in with our P1-250's on her Kawasaki A1R, and Dave will be campaigning multiple classes, but most notably Vintage GPH and Magill Masters Heavy on his 1978 Yamaha TZ750...

Well guys this may be one of your last chances to see some original Kawasaki race bikes.
Dave just confirmed with me that he will be bringing his TZ750 and the H2R and the Bighorn 350 racer. His wife will be on the A1R 250 race bike. In addition Dave will be riding a RD400 in the endurance race on Friday.
The P2 Heavy Lap record is still: D. Crussell 1.36.212 (2011)
This looks like another great race weekend at CTMP. These are all very rare bikes and they haven't been in Canada for several years so come out and watch them race.
The CVMG will have the swap meet all weekend.
The CVMG Vintage Festival Concours D’Elegance 2016 Saturday August 13th. Classes for the Show on Saturday are: Best British Best American Best Japanese Best European Best Competition Best Cafe Best in Show
Come and enter your bike for a chance to win.
Mosport Vintage Festival The 2016 Vintage Festival will be on August 12,13 and 14th.

It was great meeting up with you all, Scott, Henry, Jim, Dave, Anthony! It was realy a surprise to see so many of you out there. Sorry I did not pre-announce my visit, but it was a last minute thing. It was good to catch up and see you're all still working on good things in life! (Triples 👍) Dave managed to put in some good laps, best as far as I could see was a 1.35.7 with the H2R, improving his previous best. The Bighorn destroyed the clutch, probably due to a friction plate cracking on the fly. Didn't get to talk much to Dave as he was heading for the airport when we arrived. Hope to find more time next time I'm ver and arrange to meet in Kiitchner for a beer.

Mojo Yamaha A line up of Mojo Yamaha machines on their way to the 2019 Island Classic“Immediately following the 2018 International Challenge, the build and preparation of the bikes for 2019 got underway,” said Team America riding captain Dave Crussell. “The goal is to engineer the most reliable bikes while keeping them as close to identical in build as possible. A large contingent of the American squad were riding machines prepared by Mojo Yamaha, which is a motorcycle racing team focused on classic Yamahas with engine builder, Larry Cook, and chassis expert, Denis Curtis Of CMR in CANADA, the helm. Fans can find out more at www.mojoyamaha.com
The engines are a mix of oversized FJ1100 four-strokes and TZ750 two-strokes, housed in frames produced by Denis Curtis of CMR Racing and exhaust by Lang Hindle of Hindle Exhaust Systems Inc. “For 2019, we have five CMR/FJs and two TZ750s. These Yamahas have proven to be the best possible fit for Mojo Yamaha and should offer the most competitive advantage in our quest to win the event.”

Sweet!! Wanna go watch? I guess we'd need to get a quick flight over, and even then we'd likely miss it.
