I bought new rubber inlets (manifolds) for my H2 with 38's. They fit 100% perfect but I noticed that the surface which contacts the cylinder has a recess which appears to be intended for a washer. Does anyone know if this is the case? Thanks,

I can't say for sure but I think only to distribute the clamping force, I can't see any use for the washer myself?

Are they Chinese ones? The recess is on the wong side.

They are genuine Mikuni. I was thinking along the same lines as Walms...there to prevent the rubber fro squishing out too much. My old manifolds had them but had been torqued down so many times they were pretty much flattened.
