Anyone ever heard of Nology Hotwires high energy plug wires? They have an integrated capacitor that stores energy and then discharges higher voltage in a shorter period of time. I am upgrading my 72 H2 coils to 74 H1-E coils so I can use the screw on Nology motorcycle plug wires. They supposedly up the voltage 300% then discharge in less than 1 ms so they dumps all that energy into igniting the fuel and giving a much faster flame front that is supposed to more completely burn the fuel. Lots of well know car and motorcycle racers and record holders use them so I figured I'd give them a shot. If nothing else it should prevent any chance of plug fouling even running way rich on the cheap gas we have to keep pinging down Now I just have to ground one of the H1-E coil leads to match the single lead H2 frame grounded ones.

I recommend only solid core wires, non-resistor caps and non-resistor plugs.

What he said! It's hard to get the non resistor plugs around here without special order, had to settle for BR9HS. They extend the spark duration a tiny bit at a slight cost, however I doubt when the plugs are in good condition it will make much practical difference (with copper wires and non R caps). Plenty bright spark for today anyway. rt

- In my drag racing days (1972 H2; years: 1973 to 1985) I used Champion Gold spark plugs (G4 - I believe). I still have some.
- Today Champion recommends: Champion 811 L82C Nickel Spark Plug or 874 RL82C Nickel Spark Plug for my H2. Haven't tried either.
- Photo of my H2, note class win on exhaust 1981 at Atco NJ in the final against the Nat'l. Record holder on a Z1.
