Hi everyone. Thought I might as well start a thread on my ongoing project. First of all, since I have not met many of you: I am Jorgen Lund, 41 years old and live in Norway. I have not built a bike ever, and had my first triple 3 years ago. I was "sold" so to speak, 5 saconds after I first time heard a triple running, in 2010. I just had to HAVE one, and bought an US import H2B. (the basis for this project) Since that, I have bought another H2B and got it up and running, same with F8, original RD500 and -83 ELR (european version) So, I am pretty much in love with my bikes, and especially the triples. I have been reading a lot on 3-4 boards last couple of years, and hopefully with help from several persons I have now the skills needed to make myself a bike which is as spesial to me as your bikes are to you. I will try adding some photos to this thread, and show my ugly Scandinavian face as well. [https://www.dropbox.com/sc/5bovzvzeuqja63k/MMGeSg8kqe]

Welcome Jorgen! It's official now you have a project thread! The easiest way to upload pictures is from a hosting site like photobucket.

www.dropbox.com/sc/5bovzvzeuqja63k/MMGeSg8kqeHey.......I can use my dropbox. How cool. This is the project as is now. Color will be pearl black, glossy black pipes, engine cases and top end. The cases are "ball polished". Dont know the english word for it, but the cases rolls over in a big machine filled with 2 metric tonnes of steel balls in different sizes after beed blasting. It is a spcial kind of soap together with tens of thousands of those steel balls in tjat machine.

Nice looking pipes, are they modified Jolly Moto's? I like the angle cut on the silencers.

Yes.
I do not want modern looking cans on my vintage looking bike. Therefor I cut off stinger, welded them on again but now they are inside pipes. Then welded on 50mm pipes to the cone.
Dont need silencers when stinger sticking inside pipe all the way to the middle section.
It is loud, but far from traditional stinger pipes, but has a little of that characteristic rattle the old stingers have without scaring my whole neighbourhood.
And powerwise the jollys are the same now as before chopping them.

Dig that crazy tailight assemblyWhat is the tail addition from? Did you fabricate it yourself? Like the smiley face too, you should incorporate it into the paint job.

Thanks.
It is the same H2R end as pipe welder has I guess, a Fiberglass replica, but I have shortened it a lot. Did a V-shaped cut to it to make it more narrow at the top so I could fit it against the H2C replica, modded seat.
Reinforced with sheet metal, epoxy and fiberglass. Made a tool compartment and sealed it with 4mm rubber. At the end, rubber mounted rear unit to frame.
