Hey David, I have the same RZ rims with the dual front rotors, what are you using for forks? The RZ forks I have are longer and different dia. than the S3, but the s3 doesn't thave the tabs for the 2nd caliper... I'm debating to get the rz triple clamp or look for another fork. Either way, I think I need some progressive rate springs! The front end dives faster than Paris Hilton on coke . ;D And that's with 20cc extra fork oil and a 1 inch spring spacer.

I'm using the whole front end off of an '83 RZ. I swapped the S1 stem into the RZ lower clamp. The only problem with my setup that I can see is that the '83 forks have an indent/ area machined out in between the lower and upper clamp, so there is not really any room for hight adjustment.
If I didn't have the RZ stuff laying around, I probably would have got a set of '86+ RZ350 forks or maybe some off an FZR600.

Nice machine there RZ350ypvs. Post us some pics of that sweet mod on the rear suspension. I like the way you got the mono shock tucked in there! Looks like you have some fabrication talent there....

Thanks. Here are some pics of the monoshock- It was actually pretty easy to do, I just copied the geometry from my RZ. The spring feels a little stiff, might have to play with the adjustments.

I've started to try and build my WTF designed pipes and I have run into a problem. How much ground clearance do I need for the center pipe? I built them out of cardboard first, and the center is pretty low, I measured just under 5 inches with my dad sitting on the bike. I can't get it tucked up tighter because the monoshock linkage is in the way. Any suggestions?

move them out board of the frame rails and run then in a traditional routing.what was the center diameters? with them in this style of routing you will have 7 inches and if you get the middle section further back you will be able to swing them up and gain more ground clearance

you have rear sets so you could swing them up more at the back

I have the left and right pipes outside of the frame rails. The brake pedal hits the pipe if i raise it up too high, also the shifter will be a problem. The large diameter is 101.8mm here is a pic of my paper pipes......

I could raise up the center pipe easily if the suspension linkage wasn't in the way... will I smash the center pipe on the ground with only 5 inches?

how many inches do you have without anyone on it? my 500 has pipes on it that are 113mm in diameter and i only have 6 1/2 inches with no one on it so it is probably around 4 3/4 inches and i haven't bottomed out yet and i have been running it pretty hard and the roads around here are horrendous for bumps and pot holes. i don't think you are going to have any problems.

You have allot more ground clearance at the front... Try extending the header of the pipe forward and not sweeped back so much, Try to route the center pipe as close as possible to the front wheel (compressed). What you want to do is bring the belly of the pipe forward so the baffle is the part that has to be routed around the linkage. With that said, I'd imagine the only thing that would give you problems would be speed bumps... They're looking great!

hey walms do you think that pipe set would fit better on dales bike seeing he doesn't have the rear suspension that this bike has?
