I really like the looks. Classic spokes with a touch of mod. I was looking at new SS spokes anyway.

LC, what rims are on your H1? Excel if memory serves me correctly...won't guess the width. Excel?

My Sun rims came from them as well.

The back wheel is an Excel 18 x 3.5 laced to an S1 hub (something like 3.5 lbs lighter than an H1 hub). The tire is presently a 130/80 BT 45. SS spokes and rim was purchased from Buchanans.
I, and several people I know of, have had problems with Buchanans getting the rim drilled for the correct spoke angle. This results in the spokes curving upon assy. To avoid further hassles I corrected the issue myself. I suggest you send the hub if ordering rims from Buchanans to avoid this goof up.
Circa 1974 it was recommended I replace the std 19in rim for an 18in rim. Subseqently I laced up a 2.15 x 18 Ackront shouldered rim. This is still the front wheel I run presently.
I expect to be going to a new front Excel 2.5 x 18 rim (purchased from Buchanans at the same time as the rear) laced to a heavily modded (lightened) H hub for next season. Hopefully the holes are correct in this rim!

I had really good results from Buchanan's back in 2006. Mine is a KZ1000 front hub and a h2b rear hub. The rims and spokes came from Buchanan's, and fit perfectly.

I'm not sure what Don will think of this, but my vision for our Sea & Ski Moto Special looks something like this: LC looks so "right" on his h1!! I love this pic!! Looks very nice to me.....something along those lines would bring a big smile to my face!

Thought I'd mention.....was watching American Pickers (a show on the History channel) and they came across a guy who had purchased a Harley dealership in 1972. He sold it but kept all the NOS parts (going back to the 20's still in the boxes)!! Man I hope there's guys doing the same things now for 70's Kawasaki's!! The guy wasn't even selling the stuff he was giving it away to people restoring their own bikes....a lot of respect for that!
