You know... the more things change, the more they stay the same. Project ideas come and go, but some really never truly leave.
The Drewski/Seaglider Project has morphed into a "Beast-of-a-h2b-Tracy-FBG". It's made up of a lonely h2b frame and Tracy body, waiting in a dark corner of the shop for the right circumstances to arise, so that it might ride again. The arrival of FBG power, sealed the switch. The h1a is then shuffled off into the corner.
But not for long...
... it looks too cool to be left to gather dust.
I'm gonna bolt it together, title the frame and transplant the engine out of the Mongrel into it. I'm gonna have a nice little 2-up Gentleman's h1 Cruiser.
Turn to page16 to pick up this project, or read the whole thing from the beginning starting below. Thanks!
Well kids, here we go again.
My brother "Seaglider" is a "newborn" biker and has been riding with some of the KTC hooligans and hanging about KTC. The most recent ride was our long weekend down at Barber last October. I should let Seaglider speak for himself, but I think 4 days of inhaling my Motul and whatever oil Pipe Welder burns, left him yearning a Triple of his own.
Fast forward about 6 weeks and...
What we have here is a '71 h1a courtesy of Autofobe (Brad) and this will be the basis of our "joint project". Seaglider has the money , and I have a few more bits to add to the project:
Some of those pieces you might recognize as former parts of my h2b. They've been hanging around gathering dust here at the shop and really need to get out on the road again!
We have an engine but it's a basket case and...
it's a 750! We'll need some help with mounts to make it fit.
So... there ya go.
This will be a loooooooong term project. We have quite a few bits to acquire before this project will see the light of day.
Aside from the motor mounts, we already know we need:
- seat complete with, well, everything!
- rear fender, any condition will do
- tail light and bracket, complete
- passenger grab rail, doesn't need to be perfect
- head light
- gauges
- who knows??
Between the 2 of us, well be weighing in on the progress of this endeavour. It doesn't have a "name" yet. Maybe that should be the first order of business!?!? ;D ;D
