Although the general concenses is that Tracy bodys are Kewl. The only major downside is the tank capacity is about 2 gallons. So with an H2 at 15mpg you should get around 30 to 40 miles tops on a tankfull. Below is a thread on the non-tracy body I picked up from a KTW member. It has some discussion about the tracy body hope this helps. kawasakitriplesworldwide.com/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?t=34724&highlight=tracybrawney

Do you think the 750 body would fit on a 500 chassis? Forgive my ignorance, but (besides the size difference) what are the issues around stuffing a 750 engine in a 500 chassis? What about licencing such a creature? As you might gather from the questions, I'm seriously considering this as a project. Thanks!

There's very little info about Tracy bodies out there. Limited fuel capacity certainly makes them a little impractical to ride but they definitely make a statement. Recently I was going to buy this Tracy body for my '74 H1. It is in good shape and has some really 70s looking art on it. The shape of the tail gives this one away as a 500 body. The 750 seems to curve up a little at the back. This one still has the original Tracy logo on the underside. It looks like the seat comes off and the hole is for adding injector oil to the tank. The underside says 450 Honda because the owner bought a CB450 with this body and it didn't fit right. I have a collection of vintage magazines and I know they made bodies for the SOHC CB750 and I think they made them for early Suzuki GS models. If anyone is interested in this body, the owner is in Kingston, Ontario and I believe it is still for sale. I'll check with him and post his e-mail address in case anybody else wants one of these.

O'k fellas, let's see who has a good memory! There was a cycle shop down on Lakeshore Blvd. in Mississauga somewhere around Dixie Rd. that sold these babies. I think the old Kawi road racer, Frank Mrazak (not sure of the spelling) was the owner of this shop. Over to you! ;D ;D I found the picture of Frank. Have a look.

Thinking of reviving this concept... Thots? First thing i hafta do is see if the fuel tank on the Tracy will hold fuel. It's been lined with Caswell's epoxy liner, but never tested. Maybe it's about time, eh? Don't fret Don... yours is still next!

My latest idea is actually borrowing a page from "Givr's Handbook". I'll put together a complete rolling chassis on an h2b frame for the engine already slotted into the "Mongrel". Titled, plumbed and wired ready for the engine to be plugged in. Two bikes... one engine. The more I think about it, the more I like it!

This is what the Tracy looked like on my Mongrel frame before it was converted: I think I'll add this, just to mix it up a little: Along with the front end and wheels off a zrx... I think it'll be kinda unique, kinda cool. Provided it holds fuel with out leaking, the body will get a complete re-paint. For sure it'll be "green". I'm not sure about much more than that. Maybe some dirty big metal-flake green... Possibly a swirling green, black, white, yellow combination like the retro one that's there now... Still thinking and keeping my eyes peeled for the "right" look.
