So I finally got my bike weighed at the local dump, sorry, recycling plant, truck scales and the answer to everyone's question is ....... 170kg or for the older crowd in the group, 344lbs with 3/4 full tank of fuel. How does that compare to a stock H1, anyone ? Well, here's a list we compiled at Paris a couple of years ago: We used the super-accurate "2 bathroom scales method". You can see the range is somewhere between 425 and 450 for h1's. We didn't take fuel load into account that day. Most 'specials' were a fair bit lighter. Yours would have been the lightest that day... if the scales compare of course.

That is a really good number. My H1 special with fiberglass Bodywork weighed in at 376 pounds with 4 gallons of gas

I think the biggest weight savings came from the aluminum fuel tank, fiberglass tail/seat & front fender and the WTF pipes. The NSR400 front and rear ends (suspension, wheels, swing arm) as well as the "waved" Galpher rotors also helped.🏍👍

By our chart, my Mongrel at 390 lbs, is around 85 - 95 lbs lighter than a stock h2b/c. Pipes make the biggest difference, of course. For sure, there are other pounds and ounces available as well. No tail and seat saved me a few.

Brad Well, Walms has a good start but he would need to shed another 90 lbs off his 'Special'!! That's a LOT of titanium and carbon fibre replacement pieces to make/buy!!

Well it's been a slow start to the riding season down here on the East Coast. Last three weeks have been mostly rain. I only managed to get just under 300km on her so far. Shs has spent most of her time under a bike cover in the driveway, I don't have a garage. but the High Heat Clear Coat appears to be holding up well. I know a few of yopu were waiting for results, these are early but look promising By the way, that "new to me" oil pump is working GREAT!!!!!
