Well, quite a day!! We met at the Tim's at Sheppard and 404 and rode into the rain on the way down Victoria Park to Queen St. The strange thing is, Rocket and I were talking about how slippery the streetcar tracks were as we sat at a light. It was only a block or 2 later and the slippery pavement on Queen caught me a little by surprise and down I went. I'd swear that it wasn't the tracks that "got me" but Pipewelder was behind me and says he thinks it WAS the tracks. The left bar is bent, the headlight is gouged, as is the engine case on the left and there's a mark on the tank where the forks bumped into it. Not the worst damage you could have. The unfortunate part was the back of the headlight took out the ignition switch!! After fritzing around for 30 min or so trying to repair the ignition switch, Jim just hot wired the ignition. We got some good help from some bystanders too. One fellow ran a bicycle shop and claimed to be a motorcycle mechanic. We got a marette connector from him to help with the hot wiring job. I headed on home in the rain. Pipewelder and Rocket went on the the Mods and Rockers shindig and I trust they had a great time! Mine was not so good!

So sorry about your spill drewski . We sure missed you at the shindig . You missed some serious ribs but I completely understand your need to get home . Good to see you got home safe and are ok from from that slippery spill . Man I was crappin myself a few times too when we would ride over the turn switches . Hope your doin alright and see you soon . Heading north on the DVP with pipewelder I wanted to cruze up with him to put more miles on my engine but I had to part ways at the 401 as my bike began to run on 2 cylinders . Ran that way till just a block before my house . I think my centre carb has gunk in it still . Gonna take them apart tomorrow and see what gives .Could be some leftover rust sneakin through from inside the gas tank . Ran it on reserve yesturday coming from Pickering . Mike

Drew, I'm glad to here you made it back with out any more problems. As I said, I don't think you could have done anything to stop that. The bike went down in a snap of the fingers like you were on ice. As Rocket said we had a great time at the event and the food was awsome. I tried some great local dark beer and met several interresting people. There was young and old, girls and guys riding all sorts of cool stuff. Some dude interviewed me about the H2 for Cycle Canada and had his photo guy do some shots. He seemed to have heard the term "Widow Maker" and wanted to know more about this vintage bike craze going on. I posted more than 100 pics on Google at this slide show link: Have a look. picasaweb.google.com/jim.p.breslin/ModsRockers2010#slideshow/5508306276383634626
