Perhaps you could post your final jetting that works on Dale's KTW jetting example post?

Well, I guess I'm just close, not bang on yet...lol I rode into work today (50km run) I'm really beginning to think you need to go at least that far to get a good heat soak before making a jetting judgments. I detected some deto from 1/8 - 1/4 throttle and it seemed a just wee bit sluggish at wfo.... Again, relying on my butt dyno which is calibrated by my mood of the day. So for the needle comparison, it ran dirty rich on the middle clip at 28 deg. but too lean on the last clip at 13 deg. I'll move to the 2nd clip tonight as my only comprimise... Mind you, the bike ran bang on 1/2 throttle, so maybe I need to consider another taper change too. Another thought I just had while typing was the air screw adjustment... That's something I haven't fiddled with for a while and I think it might effect the range I've had the deto in. Maybe I'll play with that before dropping the needles. I'm going to order up 152.5 mains as the drilled out jets in the same size I have could really be hit and miss at best. It is still a good feeling though, as I when from rich to lean down low and lean to rich up top. I've run the whole spectrum now just fine tuning.

Ahhhh, you're too fussy! Just remove the "spacers" and then you won't be able/ have to worry using anything more than 1/4 throttle until "on the pipe". Once there, you can throw as much fuel at it as you want without issues!

OK, so I raised the needles 1 groove and rode in today again.... Cold as a witches teat this morning and I had zero deto, plus I lugged her up a couple hills and she's running slick as snot on a door knob! The temps should be up to 24 today so the ride home should be the final test I need!

Witches teat, slick snot. ;D These morning rides are the best eh, no traffic, cold air. Gone like a fart in the wind. Looking forward to fall, should be the best riding weather of the year.

Looking forward to fall, should be the best riding weather of the year. spoken like a true Canadian. I am glad we have the climate we do. Fall is the best time to ride. Did you notice the colour is changing fast now.

100% agree! I never go as far as to say I don't like the heat but fall is my time of year! The Tweed rally is without a doubt (IMHO)the best place and the best time to ride! Temps are perfect and all the wankers from Toronto have all gone home for the season! ;D ;D ;D

Well boyz, another frustrating weekend of jetting to no avail... With the BGN needles, the bike runs too rich on 2nd clip through 5k and no power up top. and on the last clip it's too lean everywhere except 0-1/4 throttle. I swapped back to CEK needles and bike had more power again up top but detonated when I really wrung her out. too rich again through 5k but I suspected that. So one thing I know now is not to mess with the taper. I'm going 2 dia.'s bigger but back to standard length and taper...
CEN needles and 160 mains is my next move.

On a positive note... It's nice to see that I'm getting more power up top by going richer. Hoping for even more power with the bigger mains... One other frustrating thing is the Veypor unit. I'm still getting erratic RPM reading. Jamoo said he got his vapor unit to work using resistor caps but I'm wondering if I could get the same result using those forbidden resistor plugs ;D When the digital tach was working, there was a discrepancy between the stock tach compared to the digital tach. It seems I need a 3rd tach to confirm my damn rpm! Basically the stock tach is off by 1k through 5k and closer to 2k off through 8k. Hard to believe I've been only reving to 8k when the stocker reads 10k... anyway, I decided to find out. ;D On my last run, I kept reving past 10k on the stock tach but that is when it started to detonate... I'll revisit this with the bigger mains. ;D

Maybe I'll have to come up there and pick on you (give ya a dose of Castrol super 2 stroke) while your top end jetting is less than optimal?? Oh, and the heap's jetting/performance is getting more refined from the last time you road it.. J
