Going to get some work done for the pipe in the next few days. it wont be as pretty as Walm's but it should be still pretty awesome !
i have found all the mesurments i need for the pipe itself, but the stinger is still evading me... What about a 1.25 inch stinger for diameter... or should i stay smaller like a single pipe??

I think the Acewell gas gauge works off of total mileage, so it's kinda best guess. My Acewell tach is kinda flakey but hopefully i can tune that out too. Did you hook your tach wire through your center coil? When I emailed Acewell asking about installation on a 2stroke triple, they said to use the center coil for the tach. Just curious why it would make a difference which coil you get the pickup from I believe jamoo got rid of his problems with an erratic tach on a similar unit by using resistor caps. The unit I have uses a resistor inline from the pickup wire and is tapped directly to the spark plug ( I doubt you'd want to experiment with this method, I'd imagine the electronics of my unit were design specifically for it) Also, my unit was defective from the factory so I can't confirm how well it works just yet...

still wondering about stinger diameter and length.. any suggestions?

For the 500, you can use 7/8" id. and the length can be about 10-12x the dia.

Even for a 3into1?
Will I not have to go larger due to the more volume presented?

i did the math and stinger minimum inner diameter is 55mm and the largest inner diameter is 65.5mm

Ok Don, Haven't got that far yet, ran out of time today. Having a bit of trouble to get the pipe to come back around nice and tight how I want it. Thats all I have taped together for the time being, I will have to remove center stand mounts for it to clear properly. Heres a possible orange I will be using, its a bit dark in the photo but its fairly close to " B " orange Hard to see in the photo, but right after the collector where the 3 head pipes join, it angles off towards the left foot peg and then starts to straighten out. Ground clearance so far - 5 and 7/8 of an inch

So, the minimum diameter for my stinger is 2.17 inches?
If my math is correct that is...

i did the math and stinger minimum inner diameter is 55mm and the largest inner diameter is 65.5mm I think that's too big Don. Are you working out the total displacement in 1 stinger? Don't forget that the pulses from all 3 cylinders will be timed evenly through the stinger. I know Lou's 3 into 1 had a smaller stinger then that. As a rule of thumb, I worked out the equivalent cross sectional area for 3 @ 7/8" dia. stingers combined and it worked out to 1-1/4" dia. I'm running 1-3/4" myself and haven't seen any issues with over heating... I'd like to move closer to the 1-1/4" dia. to see if I can get the howl I was looking for like Lou's pipe.
