So now that your fall project nears completion what the heck are you going to do this winter! ;D Nice work!! Ya, that's a real problem! ;D I'm sure I'll drag this one on for some time yet. Gotta get the "Drewski 3" pipes on the go! ;D I need pipes for Paris '09!

Nice work Drew! You're cruising right along. and she looks friggen sweet If you don't like the handling of the 17" front wheel, I have an 18" RZ500 wheel that could be modified to look like that rim. I bet it would have the same brakes too. Is your motor rigid or rubber mount? I'm wondering with a rubber mount, the link would pivot a bit... Thanks Andrew! It's solid! No movement whatsoever! I'm guessing your KH would be a little different. The front wheel is actually a 16"! I may be in the market for a 17" or 18" after I scare myself a couple of times in the Spring!

How will the 16" wheel effect the handling? Just turn quicker right? Any expected high speed problems? (Other than cops on hwy#9)

I guess we'll find out! As long as I don't try to keep up with you on #9, I should be o'k! The wheel base has been shortened by 2 1/2", so it'll be a wheelie machine fer sure! I'm really curious to see how it all works. It should be fun! We know it'll sound cool! ;D

Drew, how was the geometry different on the FZR? Less rake maybe? I assume the FZR handles well I'm just trying to figure out the rule of thumb....

We used the H2 triple clamps and the forks themelves are about the same length as the KZ ones that came out. I think we should be 'good'! ;D BTW Andrew, I have the bike here at the shop now, so... whenever you're ready!!

Actually I was wondering the difference between the 2 bikes as far as rake angle and trail.... Just wondering if there is something you can do without going to a bigger wheel? How does next week sound? , you name the night.

How does next week sound? , you name the night. I haven't studied the specs of the FZR. I'm just trying to maintain the relative integrity of the H2 at this point. If I just change the wheel size and I don't like it, I know I can change it back and regain what I had. ;D Next week is good. Any night except Tues. and Thurs would be good at this point. ;D Just letme know.

Aren't RZ500 front wheels 16"? Are the rotors vented?
That bike looks great so far! I like how you didn't modify the frame so you could put it back to stock if you wanted to.
That front and rear is off of an '86-88 FZ600. FZR600 swingarms are steel and look a little different. The front wheels are 17" also but they don't look the same as yours.
Where is this taking place?

The RZ500 has a 16" front wheel and 18" in the rear. The vented discs were prone to warping from heat. I bought a new '85 RZ500 off the showroom floor at Cycleworld East back in '86. Not sure if it was the 16" front wheel but I had only heard about tank slappers before owing that bike. A steering damper and progressive fork springs cured it.

Probably RZ350 wheels then... they are the same as whats on your 500/350 project. I hardly know the Kawi's let alone the Yamahammers....lol I haven't been yet but Drew has a shop in Mississauga.... Where's a good place to buy progressive spings for the H1?
