I have used the spray max 2k clear and think its really good stuff,,, I was just curious as its the only rattle can clear I have found that is gas resistant or almost as good as body shop spray clear,,, Didn't know if Dupli color clear was as well ? there paint is top notch use it often but never the clear ..

Well. we'll see. I did use it on a Honda 305 I did a couple years ago. Seemed to work fine and was gas resistant.
I have heard that the Spray X is really good but I wanted to stick to one manufacturer from start to finish.

A bit of a difference from when it arrived. Some paint mistakes but not too bad. Seat should be back soon.

I got this bike running today. Started after about 6 kicks and runs on all cylinders. One is way stronger and I think the throttle cable is faulty. The cable adjuster is down all the way but the slide is up higher than the other 2. I checked the connection in the slide and it is fine. It seems that the inner wire is shorter than the others. I re-routed the cables to try but it made no difference and switched the slide to another carb and that carb ran higher.
Unless I am missing something, I have to say the cable is too short on one lower branch.
Anything anyone can think of otherwise ?

Just thinking here, a possible cause of one branch being shorter may be the short cable is not seating properly at the connection with the upper/ single cable. I believe there are sockets for each branch to seat themselves in... I would check that the branch cables are seated properly at the joint.

That sounds like a good guess.. if the chrome guide collar is out of round and doesn't slip down into the seat properly, then the cable could hang up.

Not to sound dumb but maybe the short one goes to the oil pump Brad

Not to sound dumb but maybe the short one goes to the oil pump Brad The cable for the pump is much longer plus it has the adjuster on the end so it's impossible to mix up.

All seated correctly. Funny, but this is the second cable from Z1 this year that has had this problem. Diablo were out of stock.

Does that cable have a "plastic" barrel connector for joining the upper and lower cable. Try getting the repro one that has the STEEL barrel connector. It is made by KIWAMI. They are probably the best fitting one.

I have fixed this problem in the past, but it's a PIA. You carefully slide the chrome socket off the 2 "longer" cables and carefully cut the outer cable back by 1/4" or whatever is necessary. Use a Dremel with cutting wheel. Slide the chrome sockets back on with a dab of Gorilla glue. Walla.
