Trash the K&N's get UNI's. Go up one on the pilots and up the needle one and 2 up on the mains to start.

Back in the mid 70'S when I got my H1 E .I went to the Kawasaki dealer to order a set of DENCO chambers as they were a DENCO parts dealer. But when I got there they had a set of brand new chrome J&R chambers hanging on the wall. They made me an offer I couldn't refuse.$75.00 Bones.Nothing to lose at $75.00 bones ? I took them along with a set of K&N filters.A set of colder spark plugs and several jets to experiement with.Checked the timing on the bike and recall the bike winding out between 7.5K - 8K topped out in 5TH gear STOCK pipes etc. I installed the chambers and the K&N'S and tried different pilot jets and moving the clip on the needle. But it ran best with just around 100-102.4 main jets 92.5 was stock.J&R H1 500 pipes have a very short belly. And are a very under rated chamber.Stock with the J&R'S and the K&N's the bike would wind out to 9.5K RPM in 5TH and the speedo read about 127 MPH.There were several different versions of J&R's made.I recently found a set among my chamber collection, I didn't know i had.One thing about the J&R H1 chambers. They have excellent ground clearance if you like to handle the corners. And they do make decent power.I notice some of those pipes made in Japan that you can get these days.Sure look very similar to the early J&R H1 pipes.Your altitude will affect what jetting you will need.I am slightly below sea level.
