Sand down the dome of the piston a bit, you'll be good to go!

Sand down the dome of the piston a bit, you'll be good to go! Right. An easy way is to have someone drive you in a car. You open the passenger door and hang out, and drag the engine upside down on the pavement. Before you know it, the piston and cylinder deck will be nice and flush.

There ya go Jim, I never thought of that! I jack up the rear of my mustang and wrap emery cloth around the tire. It makes one heck of a sander! It'll knock the dome off that piston in no time!

There ya go Jim, I never thought of that! I jack up the rear of my mustang and wrap emery cloth around the tire. It makes one heck of a sander! It'll knock the dome off that piston in no time! Another great tip! I have an old Dodge van I don't use any more. I can set that up as a sander and keep it in service. Maybe wrap cloth around the other tire and have a polisher too.

I've heard of decking the top of the cylinder before but never the bottom??? Are you lowering the ports?

It's o'k Jim, I think we've got it figured. You can stop being helpful now. I was saying "another great tip" to Andrew's idea of emery cloth on his car tire. I want him to get credit for that idea!
