Thinking of making an airbox, figured it would be easier for tuning...any thoughts?

I thought about doing it a couple of times but in the end, too much of a pita to bother. Apparently helpful for tuning tho.

My reed boxes and carbs are so big, that I don't have a lot of room between the frame. If I make it out of fiberglass, I can use the space move effective

I was thinking of using k&n flat filter for a third gen camaro, they use two small square filters. Just use one

I beleive you have drawings of your idea in you build thread for this? why did you find it to be a p.i.t.a? triplepower you should post a pic up of the space you have to work with for an airbox and see what people come up with! are you hoping to set it as far back as the stock air box would have sat?

You must have a HTC, both mine did the same. You have miles of room for a box.......

Defiantly doesnt leave you much for room! just the first thing that came to my head i was thinking with 2 lawn boy foam filters side by side there roughly 2.5in x 4in if i had to guess. Would there be an issue with breathing through the bottom? would help with riding in the rain (something tells me that bike wont see rain if avoidable) making some sort of flange for the carbs would be interested! i like were walms was going with his idea in his build thread but i think youd still be breathing separately that way and not so much all drawing from the same source which im assuming is the helping factor with tuning

velocity stacks that blend into the breather box would look cool.. not sure if youd still get the pulling effect

The throats of the carbs look like velocity stacks, we'll see what I can fit in there. I figured a square filter would probably have a stronger vacuum signal then a rectangle
