Hi Folks.
I have a problem I can't solve, I am completely stumped.
I started my 72 H2 750 after a rebuild, started up fine, center cylinder stopped working after about a minute, figured a fouled plug. Same thing again on 3 plugs. I checked all electrical connections, swapped cdi wiring and plug leads, changed coil, changed pick up, swapped carbs, check fuel tap flow. Spark is bright and white/blue on all cylinders when layed on the heads. Carbs are spotless. Did Ohm testing on the system, all within specs.
I have started it up numerous times, center cyl stops working after about a minute.
You input would be appreciated....
Doug

will it start again right away or does it need to sit for a while before starting again?

I know you rebuilt it but what is the compression on that cylinder

Is that cylinders plug fouled? You Could just have fuel in the bottom end from the carb float sticking. You'd have to fire it up and clean it out relatively quickly before it's wet again.

Kind of what i was thinking aswell! id check your float height aswell! sounds like your either dumping to much fuel into one or that your running your bowls dry then once it dies they have time to fill back up before you start it again

I'm not sure why Doug hasn't posted here, but he told me he found the problem. He said the center carb had a slightly bent needle, and some dirt in the pilot system. I guess whatever problem the bent needle was causing stayed with the center cylinder when he swapped carbs because he didn't swap the carb tops.
