Well, I set the bar... let's see if I can do it or NOT! Regardless, here is the matching numbers 72 that I picked up from London (Thanks again for lead, Paul!!) for 2 grand. The good is that it's matching, not seized, about 90% there... the bad is that it's been rolled, has no rings, and probably 40K on her. It should be fun and I'm going to try and stay mainly stock, but who knows I was going to buy a lift from PA but it wasn't on sale yet, so I borrowed some hydraulic lift tables from work to do the tear down. So, it begins......

Good score Ari. If it looks bent it may just be the swing arm. No big deal.

Good score Ari. If it looks bent it may just be the swing arm. No big deal. I remember Lang talking about crashed race bikes. The frame was very RARELY bent. It was usually the swing arm, wheels, the forks and other extraneous bits.

Yeah it's amazing how quick these bikes come apart and go back together when you're not guessing what the fukc "each" part is Until I actually get the motor completely apart and know what I need to replace I'm trying not to let my mind wander and think about all the really cool (and horribly expensive) bits I could add to this current money pit. Must keep chanting... "get it ready for Paris, just git er done!"

Wonder what power increase you get by going from 71 to 73.5 mm bore when everything else is similar. My guess is 1-2 hp more pr cylinder.
Any guesses??
