Just installed a short handlebar on my 400. I think the handling will take a little getting used to, and my cable routing is definitely too long. What do you guys think? Photos

Bucko bars belong on Harleys, so anything flat or below is awesome!

Just installed a short handlebar on my 400. I think the handling will take a little getting used to, and my cable routing is definitely too long. What do you guys think? PhotosPersonally, I think it's a great move! I love the 'super bike' bars and usually have some form of them on my bikes. The only exception at the moment is my h2b, which has clip-ons. They're a little more extreme, but so is my h2b! I think you'll love them if you like the "leaning into the wind" body position. I feel more 'engaged' with the bike and find my focus is sharper. For me, it just feels 'right'. As far as cable routing, you might find that by re-routing, you can easily take up the excess cable length. I don't have any specific experience with the 400, so I can't swear to that, but often I've been able to make do with the stock cables until I could find shorter one(s) that suit that style better. You may find that you only need to change one and not all of them too. It's just a "try it and see" proposition, unless someone else has some specific experience to share. Looks great to me! What do you think so far?

Thanks for the input. After a short ride, I approve. I definitely think they give the bike a more streamlined look.

For me.. The weight transfer up front seems to improve the handling on the triples.

Triples do seem a bit light out front as we recently realized in Paris.
