What is recommended by the manufacturer ? As with most manufacturers, they have a maximum recommendation... I'm looking for what guys are actually using... 40 psi is max. Here are some general guidelines: kawtriple.com/mraxl/tips/tires/tirepressure.htm

Thanks Dale, so I guess motorcycle tires are exactly like car tires... Manufacturers put a max on them but the recommendation is to fill them to about 85-90% of that value... Car drag racers are very peticular about tire pressure and performance, I would have thought motorcycle road racers would be the same? I'm guessing not much performance difference between 30 and 40 psi?

don't think that is true... especially with road racing. Honestly I don't think so either Dale, just an attempt to draw out an old racer or 2 to voice their opinion... Nothing better than saying they probably don't have one to get them interested in replying!

There are actually 2 way to adjust, starting and final tire temp, and start and final pressure. Manufactures "usually" give a running tire temp range, and you adjust pressure to get in that range. I run 29/30 on the track with the BT 45s

Rick is probibly right for a lighter bike like the f7.
If the bike is in 300-400 weight range Mo is right on.I use 28/29.There should be about four pounds diff when warm. That,s my rule of thumb.

I run about 28-30 on my gpz 550 with Avon race tires. Cold to hot pressure rise is what I look at.
