The coolest ones would be liquid cooled actually! Yup, they were adjustable and water cooled. I first saw them in a 1-liter inboard hydroplane a few years ago. It was a 160 hp 1-liter Polaris sled engine that decimated the rest of the pack, which was running things like Toyota 4-cylinder engines. The driver admitted that the rules needed to be changed to limit 2-stroke engines somehow. Personally I don't think the rules needed to be changed at all. The slower guys just needed to throw out the big heavy low hp car engines and use sled engines.

Don't they crank if you weld them? Stock heads that is? No, but welding on 40 year old castings seem to be a crap shoot. I have run welded heads for many years, but some guys have had trouble with chunking. And welding isn't necessary anyway.

O-ring the heads and forget head gaskets. Maybe on the next set, the gaskets were put in the measurements...I can't take them out now
