I agree with you Ned, that fairing must have been designed by a fricken auto-bot... Unfortunately, they aren't thinking about us old farts when they are designing this tripe... It's designed for the young punks that wear their pants 1/2 way to their knee's. I guess I am getting old because I'd love my daily driver to have 300 hp but in reality, I'd have no use for power like that on a bike... Just keepin it real!!!

This is all true - but the Shelby Mustangs, Hell Cat Dodges and such like, are making crazy power..but still look appealing. Why do bikes have to look like they got dragged off the junk pile on the film set of Star Wars 10? I am very sure that the first company to make a "classic" style café bike with modern chassis, brakes and power....will sell a ton of them. And if it's a 2 stroke, I'll be first in line.

Short answer? The Japs have no clue what the average North American middle aged dude finds appealing... They just don't get it!

I like the H2R and the Honda....I have a new appreciation for all things very old, but I'd love to take that snarling H2 for a good rip...

I love the fact that Walms think's he's an old fart. The challenge for manufacturers is to try to set yourself apart from the competition. Sometimes they take chances. Don't forget, the original h1 was a real departure from the ordinary. We happen to LOVE them because of that! Remember the original Suzuki Katana? LOTS of people (including me!) thought they were fugly too, but they too are now considered classics. One of the knocks on sportbikes over the last 20 years is that they're all built and look the same. Kawasaki built something a little different and decided to make it look a little different too. Personally, I think the H2r looks a lot better in person than in the pics, but then again, something different doesn't bother me either.

If my leg keeps going the way it is, and I can stand the bike up this summer, care to wager a bit of money on a race? My V Twin against one of your bikes?

would you be riding one of the 70;s v twins that leaked oil like a prick and caught fire so often it almost put them out of business? or the newer ones that Honda stepped in and redesigned so they could stay afloat.

This ain't no Honda designed one. That was back in the early 80s. This one is all American, and she's a nasty little sleeper I would even out my old sporty up for a race, however it looks like it may be sold.
