OK!!
I was having a heck of a time trying to locate either the Locktite or the Permatex equivalent. That stuff is also bloody expensive.
Jeff at NHCycle recommended the Permatex Aviation for the cases which I was able to find at Canadian Tire.
Thanks for setting me straight, and for saving me some money.

Just to let you know there is a group of us from the Niagara area that meet every second Wednesday at the Husky truck stop on York rd. We usually have at least 20+ in attendance. There are three of us that own triples. My guess is that you would know someone there. Starts at 7:00, hope to see you there!

hi everyone.
i'm just finishing the reassembly of my kh500, i have a lot of problems with the oil system.
I'd love to hear your opinions.
i bought new springs and balls for the check valves.
when i test them with air they all start to leak slowly from 3 psi and open at 4.8 (i use a glass of water to see if there are bubbles), when i test them with 2 stroke oil they don't leak even after 10 minutes and open at 4.8.
i'm a bit confused knowing from what i understand it should be able to maintain pressure no matter if it's oil or air.
can i consider the test as conclusive, do you think they can be used like that?
thank you for your reply

Thanks for the offer. It's always nice to have more resources when undertaking a rebuild like this.
I was riding my grey Suzuki Vstrom on Canboro Road in Fonthill a few days ago and was passed by someone on a triple.
Was that you?
I have the crank and cylinders back from Jeff at NH Cycle and I am starting the engine reassembly.
What did you use for the crankcase sealing? Did you go with Locktite 603 for the bearings?
Thanks again for your offer of assistance.
Kevin

Does anyone remember Bob Sutherland? He was a 350 cc champ from what I hear. Likely late '70s. I remember that name. The 350 production class always had a big field of riders and some were the local boys. I think Sutherland may have been one of those guys.

The number 100 was always reserved & associated with Dunlop. When I joined the VRRA 5 years ago I was given a choice of available numbers. The new registry lady by mistake included the# 100 in my list.I took the number & still use it today.Jim Allen was the Canadian National champ in 1973 & 1977.His first race was at Daytona on Dunlop tires & he went on to work for Dunlop for years. His number was 100 & that is why they would not give it out. Here is a pic of Mosport 1973.He at the far right.

Work continues on the 400 restore project.
The seat has been recovered and my crank and cylinders have been done by Jeff at NH Cycle.
I tried to post a picture of the seat with obviously no success.
How about this one??

I have also picked up a slave kit. It looks great. Thanks again Zambia. I read the full thread a few times and thanks guys for sharing your insights. Since i am using the ball bearing pusher rather than the OEM mushroom pusher I was curious if this would impact the length of the push rod I should use. I measured both and the mushroom is about 1 mm taller so there should be no issue assuming they seat in the cases in the same relative position.
